Our spring open house was last weekend and I finally took some pictures of the shop today!! It took us about 6 weeks to get everything done! We also did a little reconstruction during this time...I moved my office area into the kitchen and created a new checkout area by cutting a hole in the wall and putting in a new counter. Daton did all the "construction" work and it turned out just perfect. I love my new area and now I can be so much more organized and have everything in its place. It just makes me happy:)

So here is the shop in full bloom:)

Hope I didn't bore you too much, tried to take a few angles from the main rooms. Sorry my pictures are all over the place, I still don't know how to do this blog thing very well!
Stop in at the shop anytime and say "hello"!

one room down...

11 to go:) Started my spring displays today. We were able to get one of the smaller rooms done and it just makes me happy to add those spring touches to the shoppe. We will redo all the rooms upstairs first and then start on the downstairs. We made it to the Chicago gift mart last weekend and found some great items! Merchandise is already coming in!! I'll try and post on each room as we get it done!!

Time...

Why does time move so slow in January? I so wish I could savor it and appreciate those precious hours that I so often crave in the middle of summer. But as I prepare to go to the Chicago Market for our biannual shopping trip of new merchandise my mind is racing to plan for our spring displays and of course our Fall and Christmas displays. I am hoping to be inspired and find those items that speak to me and hopefully my customers. We try to be unique and different from the rest of the shops in town and I always feel this self-induced pressure to make my shoppe the best I know how. So, I need to just relax a little, enjoy this time of respite and dream about spring!!!

show & tell

I know this is my second post in one day, but I wanted to show how someone as uncrafty as me can follow directions:) Heather Bullard showed how to make these tissue paper flowers on her blog and I have a lot of old sewing patterns in the shoppe so I thought I would try it!! It was really easy and for my first one I thought it turned out pretty good!!! Now I can't stop making them:)
